“I have always been fascinated and enamored with languages and cultures, and how people communicate with and within them. With this focus, I have devoted my entire professional career to helping people communicate better across cultures, by developing both their language skills and cultural competency.”
What We Believe
In communication, very little of the message is conveyed through vocabulary and grammar. Most of the message is conveyed through the ways people say what they do. How you say it is deeply tied to cultural identity.
CAL Learning programs are based on the principle that to successfully work with different cultures you should know:
1) What is the most effective communication style for interacting in this culture?
What is the best way to get my message across, both spoken and written?
What interactional skills do I need to apply?
2) What are the cultural roots that created this communication style?
Why do they communicate like they do?
Through CAL Learning programs, learners develop practical intercultural communication skills for workplace and daily living.
